Your First Bot

In this tutorial you publish a simple Python bot directly from the portal, run it and check the result in the logs. It takes a few minutes and walks through the whole Sinfonia cycle: publish → run → monitor.

Note

Before you start, you need:

Access to the platform. See Request Access.
An agent with ONLINE status. See Install the Agent.
Python 3.12 or higher installed on the agent machine. See Prerequisites.

Create the bot

On the Bots screen, create a new bot of type Script and fill in:

In the Script field, paste the code below and leave Dependencies empty:

JSON parameters reach the bot as environment variables, which is why the script reads the value with os.environ. Save the bot.

Run the bot

In the bot list, click the run icon in the Actions column of bot-hello-world. On the EXECUTE BOT screen, check the agent and click Execute Now.

Follow the execution

Open the Executions screen. The execution first shows as

RUNNING

and, when it finishes, as

SUCCESS

. Click **Info** to see the logs. The script output should be there:

Hello, Sinfonia! My first Sinfonia bot is running.

If the execution ends as

ERROR

, open the logs to see the error message and check that Python is installed on the agent machine.
