Install the Agent
The agent is the program that runs on the machine where your bots are executed. It connects to the Sinfonia orchestrator over HTTPS, receives executions from the queue and sends logs and status back. Without at least one online agent, no bot runs.
One binary, any machine
The agent ships as a single static binary. There is no installer, runtime or extra library to set up: just copy the file to the machine and run it.
- No installation: a single executable that already bundles everything the agent needs to run.
- Cross-platform: there is a binary for Windows (10, 11 and Server) and another for Linux distributions. You pick the system when downloading.
- Multiple architectures: works on x86_64 and ARM64 processors.
Note
The agent needs no installation, but your bots still need their own dependencies on the machine, such as Python 3.12+ for Python bots or Node 22+ for JavaScript bots. Check the prerequisites and hardware requirements, especially network access to the orchestrator.
Download the agent
Go to https://sinfonia.live/agents and click the download icon in the upper left corner. Fill in the fields:
Agent Name
- Description: Name used to identify the agent on the platform. Use something that points to the machine, for example
WIN-FINANCE-01.
OS
- Description: Operating system of the machine where the agent will run.
- Available options:
Linux,Windows.
Token
- Description: Token that authenticates the agent with the orchestrator.
- How to obtain: By default the platform generates a
mastertoken when your account is set up. You can also create tokens in the tokens section.
Auto Update
- Description: Whether the agent updates itself when a new version is available.
- Available options:
Enabled,Disabled.
Copy the files to the machine
Upload the downloaded files to the machine where the agent will run and keep them all in the same folder. The agent needs read and write permission on that folder.
Start the agent
agent.exe from the folder where the files were copied.Important
Windows: if your bots need a graphical interface, also apply the configuration described in RDP session for a graphical interface.
Confirm the connection
Go back to https://sinfonia.live/agents. The agent should appear with the chosen name and ONLINE status. From then on it can be selected when publishing bots and configuring triggers.
RDP session for a graphical interface
On Windows, the agent can create its own RDP session when running automations. This guarantees a graphical interface is available for bots that interact with the screen, even when nobody is logged into the server. To enable it, turn on multi-user mode in the agent and tell it which orchestrator variable stores the password of the Windows user used for the session.
Register the password in the orchestrator
In Administration → Environment Variables, create a variable with the password of the Windows user the agent will use to open the RDP session and note the key you used, for example WIN_USER_PSWD. Since this is sensitive data, restrict viewing and editing to Admins.
Configure the agent’s .env
On the server, open the .env file in the agent folder and add:
MULTI_USER_ENABLED=true
USER_PSWD=WIN_USER_PSWDMULTI_USER_ENABLED: allows the agent to create the RDP session to run the automations. Usetrue.USER_PSWD: takes the key of the variable registered in the previous step, not the password itself.
Restart the agent
Close agent.exe and run it again so it loads the new configuration.
